The Banks Monster-Ram improves throttle response and fuel economy by eliminating airflow restrictions. By replacing the failure-prone factory grid heater with the included Banks high-flow billet intake plate, severe engine damage is prevented. Monster-Ram is the only 50-state emissions-compliant RAM intake elbow.
The Monster-Ram improves airflow from the intercooler. It flows 72.7 lbs/min MAF (Mass Air Flow) with Banks' High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate compared to stock's 38.6 lbs/min MAF.
Monster-Ram raises boost without increasing backpressure at the turbine. The result is a more responsive, power-efficient engine that offers even more headroom than stock for higher horsepower applications.
Banks' High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate complete the perfect system. The High-Flow Heater allows for the removal of the restrictive stock heater grid plate. The new vertical coil-style heater provides the same functionality for cold starts as the stock grid heater but without obstructing airflow. Replacing the restrictive stock grid heater plate with the Banks High-Flow Intake Plate removes all obstructions and turbulence in the airflow path.
Utilizing the latest in CFD (computational fluid-dynamics), tested on the flow bench, the dyno, and on-road, Monster-Ram is a beast that only Banks could have unleashed. A direct-replacement aluminum casting, Monster-Ram is instant power, performance, and acceleration gratification. The factory inlet elbow is cramped and angular in order to accommodate the path of the stock No. 1 fuel line. Banks Engineers designed a new No. 1 fuel line, allowing the Monster-Ram to flow more air without obstruction.
With four 1/8 inch NPT ports, perfect for temperature and pressure sensors, the sky's the limit for data acquisition.
Like all Banks products, the Monster-Ram was tested against all available competitors. It more than doubles the improvement over the closest competitor.
A: Expect gains of 8–15 horsepower on a stock engine, with stronger throttle response and faster turbo spool. Pairing it with a Banks Power exhaust or tuner can unlock additional performance.
A: Yes — the Monster-Ram raises boost without adding turbine backpressure, allowing the turbo to spool faster and more efficiently.
A: Yes. It’s a direct-fit bolt-on upgrade for all 2013–2018 6.7L Cummins engines, using stock mounting points and factory connections.
A: Absolutely. The Monster-Ram works with both stock and aftermarket tuning setups and intercoolers, with no ECU recalibration required.
A: Yes. It’s the only 50-state CARB-certified intake elbow for this application, making it fully emissions-compliant and street-legal nationwide.
A: No. Because it doesn’t alter ECU parameters or fueling, it shouldn’t void your warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Always confirm with your dealer.
A: Installation takes about 1.5–2 hours with standard tools. Banks includes all necessary hardware, gaskets, and a custom fuel line for a clean install.
A: Nope. It’s designed to deliver full benefits on both stock and tuned trucks — no tuning required.
A: The Monster-Ram flows nearly double the stock system and outperforms competitors by 40–50%. Its billet intake plate and custom fuel line eliminate restrictions that others overlook.
A: The stock heater can restrict airflow and fail over time. Banks’ High-Flow Heater maintains cold-start reliability without blocking airflow, preventing potential engine damage.
