The Banks Monster-Ram improves throttle response and fuel economy by eliminating airflow restrictions. By replacing the failure-prone factory grid heater with the included Banks high-flow billet intake plate, severe engine damage is prevented. Monster-Ram is the only 50-state emissions-compliant RAM intake elbow.
The Monster-Ram improves airflow from the intercooler. It flows 72.7 lbs/min MAF (Mass Air Flow) with Banks' High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate compared to stock's 38.6 lbs/min MAF.
Monster-Ram raises boost without increasing backpressure at the turbine. The result is a more responsive, power-efficient engine that offers even more headroom than stock for higher horsepower applications.
Banks' High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate complete the perfect system. The High-Flow Heater allows for the removal of the restrictive stock heater grid plate. The new vertical coil-style heater provides the same functionality for cold starts as the stock grid heater but without obstructing airflow. Replacing the restrictive stock grid heater plate with the Banks High-Flow Intake Plate removes all obstructions and turbulence in the airflow path.
Utilizing the latest in CFD (computational fluid-dynamics), tested on the flow bench, the dyno, and on-road, Monster-Ram is a beast that only Banks could have unleashed. A direct-replacement aluminum casting, Monster-Ram is instant power, performance, and acceleration gratification. The factory inlet elbow is cramped and angular in order to accommodate the path of the stock No. 1 fuel line. Banks Engineers designed a new No. 1 fuel line, allowing the Monster-Ram to flow more air without obstruction.
With four 1/8 inch NPT ports, perfect for temperature and pressure sensors, the sky's the limit for data acquisition.

The Monster-Ram® improves airflow from the intercooler. It flows 72.7 lbs/min with Banks’ New Coil Heater and High-Flow Cast Intake Plate compared to the stock's 38.6 lbs/min MAF. That is a huge 88.3% improvement over stock, you can feel! The proprietary design raises boost without increasing back-pressure at the turbine. The result is improved engine response, efficiency, and headroom for daily driving and heavy hauling. There are two devices on your Cummins engine that increase air density: the turbocharger and the intercooler. Anything in the system that doesn’t create air density cuts air density. We designed the Monster-Ram® to get back that lost air density.
The secret to the Monster-Ram®'s performance is not just airflow, but the quality and weight of the air it flows. Your Cummins engine is limited in the volume of air it can flow through its 6 cylinders, even at max RPM. By increasing the mass of the air delivered to each cylinder, your stock-tuned engine will breathe more efficiently with less stress, and set the stage for power gains when stacked with a tune.

The Monster-Ram® was tested in a controlled climate chamber following RAM's cold-start procedures. With a block heater and two intake coil heaters (1,500W total), the truck successfully started at -30°F (-34°C). Without the block heater, it started at -20°F (-29°C), and with a third coil heater (2,250W total), it again achieved a successful start at -30°F (-34°C).
Testing was conducted on a 2024 Ram 2500 4x4 Tradesman with approximately 7,800 miles, equipped only with the Monster-Ram® upgrade. The vehicle used #1 diesel fuel, AMSOIL 5W-40 synthetic oil, fully charged AGM batteries, and new OEM fuel, water separator, and air filters. All tests included a minimum 12-hour cold soak and followed RAM's recommended two intake air pre-heat cycles. Individual results may vary based on vehicle condition and environmental factors.

No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, aftermarket parts cannot void your factory warranty unless the dealer can prove the part caused a specific failure. The Monster Ram is a bolt-on air intake component — it won't void your powertrain warranty.
